Job Overview
Anchor is searching for a highly motivated, detailed oriented, experienced Automation Systems Engineer to help lead our Engineering & Controls division. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with a strong technical background and a passion for driving continuous improvement. Individuals will play a crucial role in developing, designing, programming, and implementing automation solutions to support our diversified client base. You will be empowered to leverage strong technical experience, while being afforded the freedom to champion new innovative solutions and ideas. Must be customer service oriented, with a drive to ensure projects are completed right the first time.
Essential Job Functions
Automation Strategy – champion and support automation methods, tools, and processes including design, engineering, programming, and deployment strategies.
Project Management – collaborate with internal and external cross functional partners, including detailed project planning, budgets, and execution strategies.
System Design & Development – design, develop and implement automation solutions for various industries and systems.
Sequence of Operations – posses the ability to design, interpret, and deploy diversified industry operational sequences.
Programming & SCADA Solutions – utilize, develop, and deploy program solutions including ladder logic, sequential function charts (SFC), structured text, functional block diagrams (FBD), and instruction list (IL). Essential SCADA skills include data framework, graphic development, UDT’s, and Web Service interfaces.
Integration and Deployment – lead project installation and deployment teams with minimal supervision.
System Commissioning & Validation – design, build and develop test scripts and application test criteria. Lead all field commissioning and client factory witness testing.
Troubleshooting – experienced troubleshooting background including mechanical, electrical, and ancillary OEM systems.
Team Collaboration – lead engineering and program management teams, including lessons learned and process improvement initiatives.
Design Documentation - proficient in electrical controls schematics, electrical power, mechanical layouts, and P&ID diagrams, including the ability to design and create electrical controls schematics.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
4-6 years of experience in building and/or industrial automation preferred, (4 years min.).
Advanced knowledge of programming to include Rockwell Automation, and/or Schneider Electric PLC / HMI / SCADA platforms required.
Proficient with Python, Java, C/C++and PLC / HMI required (experience may vary)
Knowledge of automation control loops, field IO, P&ID’s.
Proficient with Mechanical & Electrical Systems (MEP).
Proven project management and field execution experience.
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to function and execute independently and as well as part of a team.
Hybrid/Remote work environment with 50% daily intra-state travel (South Carolina or SE Region).
Overnight stays expected to be 25% or less.

You will be empowered to leverage strong technical experience, while being afforded the opportunity to engage with some of the most technically advanced clients in the industry. Must be customer service oriented, with a drive to ensure projects are completed right the first time.
Essential Job Functions
Automation Strategy – champion and support automation methods, tools, and processes including design, engineering, programming, and deployment strategies.
Project Management – collaborate with internal and external cross functional partners, including detailed daily commissioning, installation, service, and energization planning.
Sequence of Operations – possess the ability to interpret, commission, and troubleshoot diversified industry operational sequences.
Programming & SCADA Deployment – utilize, interact, and deploy program solutions including ladder logic, sequential function charts (SFC), structured text, functional block diagrams (FBD), and instruction list (IL). Essential SCADA skills include basic data graphic development, UDT modifications, and troubleshooting.
Network & Control Communications – install, set-up, and establish network communications for all applicable TCP/IP, Modbus, and proprietary system networks, as required for system start-up.
Integration and Deployment – support project installation and deployment teams with minimal supervision.
System Commissioning & Validation – install, test, start-up, and commission all applicable systems and OEM equipment. Must be proficient in test script development, interpretation, and testing compliance procedures.
Troubleshooting – experienced troubleshooting background including mechanical, electrical, and ancillary OEM systems.

Job Requirements
Technical degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
2-4 years of experience in building and/or industrial plant floor automation preferred, (2 years min.).
Experience in programming DDC’s, PLC’s, HMI’s, and SCADA applications.
Knowledge of automation control loops, field IO, P&ID’s.
Proficient with Mechanical & Electrical Systems (MEP).
Proficient with Fluke Meters, and instrumentation calibration / testing.
Proven field engineering and start-up experience.
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to function and execute independently and as well as part of a team.
